A pet portrait painted by Kyra Wilson is not just a generic painting like you might find from another artist or service. Each portrait is very special and unique, customized through a process with your involvement.

 

Your pet means more to you than "Just a pet", and Kyra knows that. In addition to reference photos from you, Kyra will discuss your pet(s) with you to learn more about their personality, as well as their lives with you. Learning about how your pet(s) relate to you and interact with you and your life, as well as what is important to you will give her insight about the best way to include elements that express the uniqueness of your pet and your relationship with them.

 

Pet Portrait Commissions are taken on an extremely limited basis, and work a little differently.  

 

• Which pets can I have a custom pet portrait painted?

All of them! Dogs, cats, birds, lizards, pigs, etc. It doesn't matter what species or breed, just that they're yours. You can have one or two pets per piece, additional ones have an extra fee (and may be limited by size.)

 

• How does this work?

Let us know you are interested in commissioning Kyra to create this painting for you (using contact form below, or you can email us directly at KWilsonStudio@gmail.com.  You will need to choose your pet (or pets) to be painted, and you will need to select a size.

 

The initial deposit is a non-refundable 10% to lock in your commission slot. Kyra will email  you an invoice for the deposit after a clear discussion about the project, the current schedule, and acceptance of the commission.

 

After the deposit, Kyra will then need more information on your pet's personality, as mentioned above, in order to select the unusual and fun elements that will reflect their, and your, unique relationship. Kyra will discuss ideas of what those elements will be with you, and your suggestions are welcome too, so that the right elements are chosen.

 

• Do you get to direct other aspects of the painting?

No, directing all the aspects of the painting won't be allowed. This is Kyra's specific style of painting, which you can see from her portfolio. You are commissioning her style and vision, with your pet and input. So, you expect something similar to prior paintings, but yours will be unique to you and your pet. However, Kyra may have additional questions for you as the process moves forward, or require more reference photos in order to piece together a cohesive painting, so please keep communication open as this is a fluid process.

 

• Do we accept payments?

Absolutely! You can break payments into up to four (4) installments for 9x12 or smaller, beyond the initial deposit, or up to eight (8) installments for larger sizes. Paintings will not be shipped until the account is paid in full.

 

• What does the price include?

Prices include the painting on a professional surface; wooden panel, aluminum composite panel, or a stretched canvas (depending on size and framing option.) A frame of your choice from current stocked frames. Painting will be framed and ready to hang. 

 

Shipping is a separate fee and is not included, but we only charge what the actual shipping cost is. We will provide a quote, but we can also give you dimensions and weight for you to check what that might be yourself if you would like. We ship worldwide with UPS, FedEx, USPS, and DHL. Shipments originate from Vermont, USA. Please note that international shipments will take longer than the standard 2-5 business days that the US currently promotes. We are not responsible for VAT or other customs and taxation fees.
